Ethiopia Washed & Unwashed Sidamo – LATA Agri Export

The Ethiopian LATA washed and unwashed Sidamo comes from the southern regions of Ethiopia specifically from Borena, Benssa, Guji, Arroressa, Arbegona, Aleta-Wondo, Dale, Chiko, Dara, Shebedino, Wensho and Loko Abaya.

This cofffee grows along the rift valley between 1,550 and 2,200 meters. The soil is mostly fertilized with organic waste. It is also of volcanic origin, with a high nutrient holding capacity for clay minerlas.

Both washed and unwashed Sidamo varieties are produced resulting in a balanced acidity and body of good quality.

Location: located in the southern reigon of Ethiopia, Borena, Benssa, Guji, Arroressa, Arbegona, Aleta-wondo Dale, Chiko, Dara, Shebedio, Wensho and Loko Abaya.

Weather: suitable for high quality coffee production

Altitude: 1,550 meters above sea level

Proccess: both wet and sundried

Harvest: October – January (for washed) — February – April (for unwashed)

Shipment period: December – July (for washed) — March – December (for unwashed)

Ethiopia Sundried/Natural Djimmah

The Ethiopian LATA sundried/natural Djimmah coffee comes from the south western regions of Ethiopia, i.e. Lummu Seka, Limmu Kossa, Manna, Gomma, Gummay, Seka, Chekorssa, Kersa, Shebe, Gera, Bedelle, Loppa, Chorra, Yayu, Alididu and Dedessa

Jimma encompasses Ethiopia’s largest basket of unwashed coffees produced in the south western region growing between 1,650 and 2,000 meters above sea level.

Jimma is a sundried coffee with medium acidity, heavy body and fruity flavour.

Location: Located in the south western region of Ethiopia, Limmu seka, Limmu Kossa, Manna, Gomma, Gummay, Seka Chekorssa, Kersa, Shebe, Gera, Bedelle, Loppa, Chora, Yayu, Alididu and Dedessa.

Altitude: 1,650 meter above sea level

Proccess: dry

Harvest: November – January

Shipment period: February – December

Ethiopia unwashed Lekempti LATA Agri Export

The Ethiopian LATA unwashed Lekempti comes from the Western part of Ethiopia, in areas called East Welega, Kelem Welega and West Welega where coffee grows between 1,700 and 2,200 mtrs.

Welega is the highland area in the South Western part of Ethiopia with more rainfall than the dry North and Eastern areas of the country.

Lekempti coffee is often characterized by its large bean size and have full body and fruity flavour.

Location: Located in the western part of Ethiopia in areas called East Welega, Kelem Welega and West Welega

Weather: Suitable for high quality coffee production

Altitude: 1,700 meter above sea level

Ethiopia Washed and Unwashed Yirgacheffee Lata Agri Export

The Ethiopian LATA washed Yirgacheffee comes from Yirgacheffee, Wenago, Kochere and Gelana Abaya areas of the Southern part of Ethiopia.

Yirgacheffee is a small micro-region within the much larger region of Sidama. However, Yirgacheffee coffee is so distinct and so well recognized internationally that it is grouped in its own special category.

Yirgacheffee produces both washed and unwashed coffees, while it originally became famous mostly for its washed coffees.

Location: Located in the Southern region of Ethiopia specifically called Yirgacheffee, Wenago, Kochere and Gelana Abaya

Altitude: 1,700 – 2,200 meters above sea level

Proccess: Wet

Harvest: October – January (for washed), February – April (for unwashed)

Ethiopia Washed Teppi/Bebeka Coffee LATA Agri Export

The Ethiopian LATA washed Teppi/Bebeka coffee comes from the extreme South Western parts of Ethiopia

Teppi and Bebeka are estate coffees which grow at 1,100 – 1900 meters (for Teppi) and 950 – 1,285 meters (for Bebeka) above sea level. As compared to other origions these coffees grow in a relatively low land areas.

Teppi has low to medium acidity, well rounded with a smooth after taste where as Bebeka has light acidity, medium to good body with a light citrus flavor.

The production volume is also very small as compared to other origins.
Location: Located in the extreme South Western parts of Ethiopia called Teppi and Bebeka

Weather: Suitable for high quality coffee production

Altitude: 1,000 – 1,100 meters for Tepi and 950 – 1,100 meters for Bebeka

Ethiopia sundried / natural Harrar LATA Agri Export

The Ethiopian LATA Sundried/natural Harrar coffee grows in the Eastern region of Ethiopia between 1,510 and 2,120 mtrs above sea level.

Harrar coffee grows in four smaller regions, i.e. East Harrar, West Harrar and Arsi area. Nearly all coffee from Harrar is sundried natural and has a distinctive mocha flavour. Harrar coffees are also notable for a fruity characteristic and a creamy body. The finest Harrar coffees have a distinct note of blueberry, though many other fruity and fruit – like aromatic flavors can occur.

Location: Located in the Eastern part of Ethiopia which is mostly dryer and warmer than the Western or Southern parts specifically East Harrar, west Harrar and Arsi,
